Role Description & Qualifications:

This position will provide support to a 24/7 manufacturing operation. The position will be a full time position. Applicant must demonstrate a majority of the following skills.

  • Strong and dependable work ethic.

  • Basic Electrical Skills such as:

    • Ability to use a multi meter to measure volts, amps and continuity.

    • Basics electrical troubleshooting skills to measure for broken wire, blown fuses, and test for voltage.

    • Experience with pulling wire through conduit and terminating to various devices such as circuit breakers, fuse blocks, transformers or motors.

    • A basic understanding of single phase and 3 phase power, motors, pumps and transformers.

    • Familiar with the National Electric code.

    • Basic knowledge of lockout/tagout and use of proper PPE while working on live or moving electro-mechanical equipment.

  • Basic Mechanical Skills such as:

    • Basic welding, brazing and cutting skills.

    • Cut, threading and hang pipe for plumbing and electrical conduit.

    • Assemble, disassemble and repair basic electro-mechanical devices such as conveyor systems and motor-gearbox assemblies.

  • Experience in heavy manufacturing is a strong plus.

  • A basic understanding how electro-mechanical devices work and how to maintain and repair them.

  • Able to learn and develop new skills related to the glass industry such as visual and mechanical inspection equipment, automated box erectors and case packers.

  • Ability to work with PLC based systems, computer based operator terminals (HMIs) and using these devices to perform basic troubleshooting.

  • Willingness to work rotating shifts to provide round the clock maintenance coverage for manufacturing and the facility.

  • Comfortable working with your hands in a sometimes dirty environment.

  • Comfortable working with others in pairs.

  • Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance (PMs) on various pieces of equipment on a monthly or annual basis.
