Role consolidates demand/forecasting functions and is the champion of the S&OP process. This role will develop the right drum beat and right connections to ensure The Oneida Company has the best and most accurate forecast (12 month rolling) including robust statistical models, good volume foundation from past history and sales teams and adding the right projections from new initiatives. Additionally, this individual will serve as the point contact for detailed analysis within the root cause forums like 98/98TOG & Carrier/Truck performance reviews providing the right visibility of codes that incurred in cuts due to orders ahead of forecast or high levels of inventory due to hefty forecasts vs. actual shipments.
This Demand Planning position is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products for Oneida and Anchor side of the business. The Demand Planner creates and maintains forecast models for their customers, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, retailer replenishment analysts, and other sources (i.e.: Nielsen or other syndicated consumer data).
The Demand Planner is the integration point into the sales and commercial organization. Basic forecast modeling is the responsibility of this position. This position reinforces the dialogue each month for their respective Sales and Marketing teams with key counterparts from the customers. This individual coordinates the S&OP monthly cycle (Building Block-Forecast building-Capacity Check- Official S&OP submission & Executive S&OP meeting) and the outcome of this – One Single number, forecast accuracy aggregate by BU, Customer and to the sku level. Lastly, this role owns the technical support and capability of the demand system with in planning as well as with key partner functions – Sales , Marketing, F&A and Production Sites.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, logistics, Planning or business management.
3-5+ years of experience in Supply Chain.
Experience S&OP process, Service & Inventory Management
Thorough knowledge of MRPII , APICS, SAP , Oracle or similar ERP systems
Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts. Knowledge of SAP/APO, Manugistics, and Oracle Demand Planning or other software related to demand planning is preferred.
Experienced with other software packages including Windows, and Microsoft Office. This position requires strong analytical, organizational, decision making, and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process. Good facilitation skills are required.
Experience in Building system capabilities and developing individuals
Preferably 2-4 years’ experience in forecasting in a Food service supply industry.
